Jinping Xi

Widely expected to become the next leader of the People's Republic of China, Jinping Xi currently serves as the country's Vice President, top-ranking member of the Secretariat of its Communist Party, Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission, President of the Central Party School and the 4th ranked member of the Politburo Standing Committee, China's top power cabinet.

With a career that spans Hebei, Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai, where he was appointed as Shanghai's party chief following the dismissal of Chen Liangyu, Xi is known as a liberal who is tough on corruption , crime and is open-minded about reforms. As the son of communist veteran Zhongxun Xi who was the former Vice Premier and mastermind of the Shenzhen economic zone, Xi and his siblings were persecuted during the Cultural Revolution as a result of their father being was purged 3 times by Mao.

Xi is married to China’s famous folk singer, Peng Liyuan who was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the World Health Organization. His daughter is studying at Harvard under a pseudonym.
