Pont des Arts

Pont des Arts is a bridge in Paris which has become a Mecca for lovers who leave there metal locks with their names or initials as a sign of enduring love subsequently throwing the key into the Seine. The heaviness of this burden has started to cause obvious damage to the bridge. Parisian city hall decided in 2014 to ban this ritual and offered lovers a special website where they can declare love to each other online instead of irreversibly damaging a historical monument.
