Baseball

A database of terms that relate to the sport of baseball, a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players. The aim is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a 90-foot diamond.

A hit ball that results in more then a single, such as a double or triple. Kept as a statistic, to measure how many Extra Base Hits a player has over the season and over their career.

extra innings

If the tie is scored after the bottom of the 9th inning has been played, then the game goes into extra innings. The game continues until one team wins.
