Combustible dust is present, making these areas hazardous.

span

Industrial machinery; Cranes

Center to center, this is the horizontal distance between runway rails.

pneumatic braking

Industrial machinery; Cranes

By use of compressed gas, this method controls or reduces speed.

eddy current braking

Industrial machinery; Cranes

By use of an electrical induction load brake, this method reduces or controls speed.

counter torque braking

Industrial machinery; Cranes

By reversing the motor line voltage polarity or phase sequence to develop torque in the opposite direction of the motor’s rotation, this method controls speed.

hydraulic braking

Industrial machinery; Cranes

By means of displacement of a liquid, this method controls or reduces speed.

dynamic braking

Industrial machinery; Cranes

By making the motor work as a generator, with the energy being dispersed in resistors, this method controls speed.
