paradox of determinism

The paradox consists of 3 points:

1. Relations of causal connections (ie: cause leads to effect) is the same as relations of logical implications, or ideas

2. A particular human mind is the set of ideas co-concurrent with a particular finite mode of body

3. The human mind can free itself from bondage to the pains and passions of the body and attain an intellectual love of God,

where determinism is the chain of mere opinion/sense perception to speculation to true intuition to intellectual love of God.

Famed philosopher Spinoza denies this due to the distinction between activity (natura naturans) and passivity (natura naturata) of the mind, the "conatus" as actively moving the mind towards self actualization (its sole purpose), and as the mind reaches the intellectual love of God it becomes co-concurrent of reality far beyond any finite mode (like with Buddhism).
