Day of Esperanto
Esperanto Day is celebrated internationally on December 15, commemorating the birthday of L. L. Zamenhof (1859-1917), the initiator of Esperanto, so it´s also called the Zamenhof Day, and it is the most widely celebrated commemoration in Esperanto culture. On that day, Esperantists throughout the world organise events to celebrate the occasion where attendants exchange gifts (preferably books written in Esperanto) and congratulations. Often during these meetings are held lectures and talks about L. L. Zamenhof. The Esperanta Civita celebrates its Constitution Day in the Zamenhof Day as the Day of the Esperanto Culture.
