A virus disease of rice transmitted by green leafhoppers (Nephotettix nigropictus, N. cincticeps, and N. virescens). The characteristic symptoms are yellowing of leaves, reduced tillering, and stunting. The disease is similar to tungro since it is transmitted by the same insect.
