LATO Grzegorz
Grzegorz Lato, born April 8, 1950 in Malbork, was a Polish international soccer player. He played as a striker for the Polish team and essentially Stal Mielec. In 1974, soccer lovers discovered Poland team, its goalkeeper Tomaszewski, its captain Kazimierz Deyna but especially its striker trio Lato, Gadocha and Szarmach. Grzegorz Lato, the Stal Mielec striker, would stack goals at that World Cup. With seven goals, he even became the 1974 edition top scorer. His goal against Brazil allowed Poland to come out third on the podium. Lato scored two more goals in 1978 including one against Brazil! He would score one last against Peru four years later.
