North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES)

Whose purpose is to promote and coordinate marine scientific research in order to advance scientific knowledge of the living resources in the North Pacific. It was founded in 1992 and the members now include Canada, Japan, the People’s Republic of China, the USA, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea. This is sort of a version of the ICES but for the North Pacific rather than the North Atlantic.
