Jet engines

Engines that propel aircrafts by using discharged gases to produce forward thrust. The thrust is generated by jet propulsion of a rearward discharge of fluid, usually combustion gases, in accordance with Newton's laws of motion.

Contributors in Jet engines

Jet engines

compressor stall

Aviation; Jet engines

Separation of the airflow from the suction surface of the freed or rotating blades of a compressor. Any degree of stall reduces airflow.

concave

Aviation; Jet engines

Pressure side of an airfoil.

conduction

Aviation; Jet engines

Transfer of heat through material by communication of kinetic energy from particle to particle rather than by a flow of heated material.

convergent area

Aviation; Jet engines

Place where the cross-sectional area of a duct becomes smaller.

convergent exhaust duct

Aviation; Jet engines

Duct used on fixed-wing aircraft; formed by tapering toward the rear of the duct.

convex

Aviation; Jet engines

Suction side of an airfoil.

crossover tube

Aviation; Jet engines

Duct carrying flame to the individual cylindrical liners of the can-annular combustion chamber.
