The study of microscopic organisms including unicellular (single cell), multicellular (cell colony), and acellular (lacking cells). Microbiology encompasses a number of sub-disciplines including virology, mycology, parasitology, and bacteriology.

An inflammatory disease of the renal glomeruli.

carboxysomes

Biology; Microbiology

Polyhedral inclusion bodies that contain the CO2 fixation enzyme ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase; found in cyanobacteria, nitrifying bacteria, and thiobacilli.
