Petrol

a naturally occurring, flammable liquid consisting of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons of various molecular weights and other liquid organic compounds, that are found in geologic formations beneath the Earth's surface. A fossil fuel, it is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, usually zooplankton and algae, are buried underneath sedimentary rock and undergo intense heat and pressure.

Petrol

irradiated nuclear fuel

Energy; Coal

Nuclear fuel that has been exposed to radiation in the reactor core at any power level.

high efficiency ballast

Energy; Coal

A lighting conservation feature consisting of an energy-efficient version of a conventional electro magnetic ballast. The ballast is the transformer for fluorescent and high-intensity discharge (HID) ...

marketable coke

Energy; Coal

Those grades of coke produced in delayed or fluid cokers that may be recovered as relatively pure carbon. This "green" coke may be sold as is or further purified by calcining.

isobutane (C4H10)

Energy; Coal

A normally gaseous branch-chain hydrocarbon. It is a colorless paraffinic gas that boils at a temperature of 10.9 degrees Fahrenheit. It is extracted from natural gasor refinery gas streams.

high efficiency lighting

Energy; Coal

Lighting providedby high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps and/or fluorescent lamps.

marketed energy

Energy; Coal

An energy source that is commercially traded. Typically, this energy is sold by a producer, such as a petroleum refiner, through a transmission and distribution network (e.g., pipelines and trucks) ...

isobutylene (C4H8)

Energy; Coal

An olefinic hydrocarbon recovered from refinery processes or petrochemical processes.
