American Craftsman
An American architecture style which drew its origins from the British Arts and Crafts movement. The movement came as a reaction against both the Industrial Revolution and its disregard for the individual worker, and to the over-decorated Victorian era architecture.
In the U.S. the movement also shared the British desire for simplicity, as well as a concern with the ennobling the expanding middle class homes.
