Diablo III

Diablo III is the third installment in the Diablo franchise that pioneered the internet gaming experience some 16 years ago with its visually advanced and beautifully rendered fantasy world which supported four-person multiplayer actions in real time over the Internet. Published by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo featured a dark fantasy and horror-themed action role-playing game that was launched alongside Battle.net, a player-matching system allowing Diablo gamers to to meet, trade, and co-operatively battle demonic forces together.

With Diablo III, items in the game can be bought and sold for the first time through Blizzard's trading auction house in real-world cash transactions. Unlike most online games that are regionally locked, Diablo III features Global Play, a feature that allows players and friends divided by international waters to venture together in the monster fights.

Scheduled to be released on May 15, 2012, Diablo III became the most pre-ordered PC game in Amazon's history, toppling Blizzard's own blockbusters StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
