Fukushima ghost town
In Fukushima, Japan, areas surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant are still evacuated. These areas have become known as Fukushima ghost towns because of their abandoned look. The areas have been evacuated since March 11, 2011 when a tsunami knocked out the plant's cooling system. The evacuated area is a 12 mile (20km) radius surrounding the plant. The Japanese government plans to slowly repopulate the area as nuclear levels deplete.
