Instagram

A social network that enables users to take, modify and share pictures or videos on their mobile phone through an app.

Notes:

- The social media has been acquired by Facebook in 2012.

- Shared pictures are usually described using hashtags, which enable them to be found when doing a search by hashtag.

- Users can like and comment content that appears in their newsfeed or on other public user’s profile, which they can follow.

- Instagram gives users the option to share Instagram pictures to other social networks.

- Although the Instagram website allows users to like, comment, and follow too, the experience is mainly tailored for mobile use. Therefore, website-only users cannot, unless by using third-party services, post pictures to Instagram.
