March Revolution

Also known as "Revolutions of 1848 in the German states" were a series of loosely coordinated protests and rebellions in the states of the German Confederation, including the Austrian Empire and Prussia, and part of the Revolutions of 1848 that broke out in many countries of Europe. The revolutionists particularly demanded a unified Germany and changes in the form of government. A National Assembly in Frankfurt's St. Paul's church was convoked, which is considered to be the first freely elected pan-German parliament. But due to disagreements how the German future should look like, coalitions were hard to find, thus making the extremely difficult to find majority in the polls in for any significant issues. Therefore the conservative forces finally got the upper hand and dissolved the parliament and countered the revolution.
