A popular dance move performed by the South Korean rapper singer Psy in his song “Gangnam Style” , which describes the lifestyle in a rich community in the country’s south similar to that of Beverly Hill in Hollywood. The dance, featuring a humorous horse riding move, set a record on Youtube in August 2012 by attracting the largest amount of viewers ever within a single month. On August 21, 2012, Gangnam Style officially charted number one on the iTunes Music Video Charts, overtaking Justin Bieber's As Long as You Love Me and Katy Perry's Wide Awake.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jae Sang, exploded onto the world pop music stage as a result of his horse dance performance. He appeared on numerous television programs, including Good Sunday: X-Man, The Golden Fishery, and the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. He also signed a contract on international publishing rights with Universal Republic Records, a label owned by Universal Music Group, and a separate management contract with a label run by Scooter Braun Project, a company founded by Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun.
