The Russian banana fingerling potato is a perennial fingerling late season producing variety. Although very petit in size, fingerlings are fully mature when harvested, thus they should not to be confused with new potatoes, potatoes that are harvested when immature. Russian banana fingerling potatoes produce high yields and are disease resistant.

The Russian banana fingerling potato is small, slender and elongated tuber which typically measures about 2 to 3 inches long. The Russian banana fingerling potato has a thin pale burlap colored skin with a creamy yellow-colored firm and waxy flesh. Its flavor is mild with nutty and earthy undertones that develop when cooked.

All recipes point in similar directions: very good for boiling, roasting and frying. The Russian banana fingerling potato cooks quickly, especially when cut into pieces, making it ideal for quick meals.

The Russian banana fingerling potato is a heirloom cultivar of Russian origins, as its name suggests.
