A professional who tends battery of machines that make scoop (slider-fastener chain part) impressions on roll of wire. Respnsibilities include:

Mounts roll of wire on spindle, threads wire end through machine and around spindle, and starts machine.

Examines processed wire with microscope and micrometer to verify that impressions are aligned and pitched to specifications.

Notifies supervisor of machine malfunctioning.

Splices together ends of wire when breaks occur.
