antihistaminik
Antihistaminici su sredstva koja djeluju protiv histamina, blokirajući histaminske receptore H1 i H2. Antagonisti receptora H1 djeluju na glatke mišiće i propusnost kapilara, upotrebljavaju se u suzbijanju alergija. Imaju antiemetičko, ali i sedativno djelovanje te se ne smiju rabiti neposredno prije ili za vrijeme vožnje i upravljanja pokretnim strojevima (na primjer prometazin, difenhidramin, ciklizin). Antagonisti receptora H2 potiskuju sekreciju želučanoga soka te se rabe za liječenje ulkusne bolesti i refluksnog ezofagitisa (cimetidin, ranitidin).
