paragjykim

A legal term which means to injure or damage someone's rights by some legal action. (For example, the term can be used like this: The plaintiff is not prejudiced by the court's decision to allow the defendant to testify by telephone. ) It can also mean a final and binding decision that stops further prosecution of the same cause of action. For example, a judge can dismiss a case with prejudice. This means you can't bring a new lawsuit based on the same subject again. When a judge dismisses a case without prejudice, it usually means that the court didn't issue a decision on the merits which leaves the parties free to litigate the matter in a later case. In that situation, none of the rights or privileges of the person involved are lost or waived. In other words, the person can bring the case again.
