Luge

Luge is a one or two person sport in which the participants ride a small sled feet first and face up down an ice slope or street. Because of the high speeds attained luge is timed to the thousandth of a second, it is an Olympic sport.

These are covers that go over the sleds runners to protect them from being scratched and being damaged. They are usually made of rubber or fiberglass.

weight vest

If the competitor is allowed to carry additional weight then they wear a weight vest. Any competitor that weighs over 198 Lbs (90 kg) is not allowed to add weight.
