University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne is an Australian public university located in Melbourne, Victoria. Founded in 1853, it is Australias second oldest university and the oldest in Victoria. The main campus is located in Parkville, an inner Melbourne suburb. The university has 7 faculties: Factulty of Architecture, Building and Planning; Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Business and Economics; Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences; Faculty of Science; Faculty of Vetinary Science and Faculty of VCA and MCM.

The university has been placed top in Australia by the Times Higher Education Rankings (2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013), HEEACT (Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan), and Academic Ranking of World Universities (2011 and 2012). The latest rankings of Times Higher Education ranked the University of Melbourne No.28 in the world, up from 37 last year, ranked number two in the Asia region and 31st in the world by QS 2011-2012 ranking.
