chess boxing
A sport combining chess with boxing in alternating rounds. Chess boxing was invented in 1992 by French artist Enki Bilal in his comic book "Froid Equateur" but the first real match was not held until Dutch artist Iepe Rubingh organized it in 2003.
A match consists of six rounds of chess, each four minutes long, and five rounds of boxing, each three minutes long. The match begins with chess where the rules of fast chess are used, a player has twelve minute to use all of his moves. A player wins if by a knockout during the boxing round, a checkmate during the chess round, or if the opponent uses up all of his twelve minutes during the chess round. If the chess game reaches a tie, then the scores from the boxing rounds are used. If the boxing scores also result in a tie, then the player using the black chess pieces wins.
