education supervisor

A professional who develops program curriculum and directs teaching personnel of school system. Responsibilities include:

  • Confers with teaching and administrative staff to plan and develop curriculum designed to meet needs of students.
  • Visits classrooms to observe effectiveness of instructional methods and material.
  • Evaluates teaching techniques and recommends changes for improving them.
  • Provides teachers with supplies, equipment, and visual and other instructional aids.
  • Conducts workshops and conferences for teachers to study new classroom procedures, new instructional materials, and other aids to teaching.
  • Assists in recruitment and in-service training of teachers.
  • May be designated according to subject matter field or department administered as Supervisor, Adult Education; Supervisor, Agricultural Education; Supervisor, Elementary Education; Supervisor, Home Economics; Supervisor, Industrial Arts Education; Supervisor, Modern Languages; Supervisor, Trade And Industrial Education.
