A "fade-in" effect for interlaced media will initially display as discontinuous segments on a webpage. Slice graphics can be housed in tables, which the browser assembles. Non-interlaced (N/I) display technology sends every line of information to the screen, so that image flicker is eliminated, and viewing eyestrain is reduced.
