2. The Runaway Jury:
Published in 1996, this is one novel that cannot get more bizarre as the story unfolds. Tobacco kingpins, who hire jury ‘experts’, who analyze each potential juror for their client and advise their clients’ lawyers on which jurors ‘go’ with, find themselves scratching their heads when their dream jury acts in the most erratically unpredictable fashion. All the money, power and intellect in the world cannot tame this ‘runaway jury’ into being a regular one.
Who is influencing them, who is the weak link? Who is always one step ahead of this group of think tanks who have all the resources to their disposal? Yet another novel turned into a movie. Catch the movie with John Cusack, Rachel Weiss, Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman as the lead.
