Back line

The line signifying the end of the field. This is also called the goal line. When an offensive player knocks the ball out-of-bounds over the back line the defending team gets to put the ball back in play by taking the ball, up to about 16.4 yards (15 meters) parallel to the sideline from the spot where the ball went out.
