Egg, Evolution, Electricity and Eco-friendliness (E4U)

An that egg shaped personal mobility vehicle was introduced by Hyundai engineers in a 2013 annual invention contest in South Korea. Powered by a 500W electric motor that draws its electricity from an on-board 24V battery, the movable egg can travel up to a speed of 20 mph. The E4U's steering is controlled by Segway-like motions such as tilting, pivoting, and other motions inducing positions.

Weighing 176 lbs., the E4U stands on semi-spherical balls. The driver must tilt the egg to move in a seemingly counter-intuitive way: to move forward by putting weight on the driver’s left foot, backwards by transferring the weight to the right foot, and left and right by tilting backwards and forwards accordingly.
