handball

Handball, also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball, is a team sport where two teams with 7 players pass the ball and try to throw it in the other team's goal. There is 6m between a line and the goal, which only the goal keeper can step inside and standing along the line are 6 defenders. In many ways the game can remind of rugby, especially for the degree of force the defense may use to stop the attacker with the ball. Unlike basketball where players may only do 5 or 6 fouls, the players in handball can do a number of fouls, which is considered good defense (as long as it is not done from behind or the side, which is considered dangerous). Each game consists of two periods of 30 min and the team to score the most goals wins.
