Temporary speed restrictions (TSR) are listed in the weekly operation notice read by all drivers and are shown using warning boards containing horizontal flashing white lights and the speed indication. They are placed at a braking distance from the section with the TSR and may also contain an arrow if pointing to a diverging line. They may also display two numbers where differential speeds apply: the bottom number refers to passenger trains, light locomotives and postal vehicles; the top number refers to all other trains. Repeating warning boards are used if the normal position for the warning board comes before a station, siding or terminating platform and the section with the TSR comes more than 300 yd in advance. These repeating boards feature a square board, the lower half of which is yellow with two white circles and the top half contains the letter R. If the TSR is lifted earlier than scheduled, the speed indication on the warning board and speed indicator is replaced by a spate indicator (a square board with a diagonal line). The end of the TSR is denoted by a termination indicator.
