1) Behavior not in the repertoire or not occurring at the desired rate; the goal of the intervention.

2) The behavior that ultimately is to be achieved at the end of a behavior analysis program. The terminal behavior is described according to all its relevant behavioral dimensions or parameters; usually it is assigned a criterion by which an acceptable level of performance is to be judged. Often used interchangeably with behavioral or instructional objective, goal behavior, and target behavior; occasionally denoted by the noun pinpoint.

3) On a schedule of reinforcement, as the time for reinforcement gets close, animals engage in activities related to the presentation of the reinforcer. For example, a rat will orient toward the food cup.
