rotkvica
Jednogodišnja ili dvogodišnja biljka (Raphanus sativus) koja pripada porodici krstašica, najvjerojatnije orijentalnog porijekla, uzgaja se radi svog velikog, sočnog korijena. Niske kalorijske vrijednosti i velike mase, rotkvice imaju oštar okus i obično se jedu sirove. Oblik jestivog dijela korijena značajno varira, kao i boja (od bijele preko ružičaste do crvene, ljubičaste i crne). Rotkvice mogu težiti nekoliko unci (vrste iz SAD i Europe), ili, u slučaju japanskog daikona, više od 2 funte (1 kg).
