Dame Maggie Smith
Dame Margaret Natalie Smith (DBE, born 28 December 1934) is an award-winning English actress, who has played roles for film, stage and television.
Clash of the Titans (1981)and A Room with a View (1985) are among her most critically acclaimed films, while she has also appeared in the widely popular Sister Act (1992)as well as the Harry Potter series.She has recieved two consecutive Emmy awards for her role as the Dowager Countess of Grantham in the successful television period drama Dowton Abbey.
Maggie Smith made her stage debut in 1952 at the Oxford Playhouse, and became a permanent fixture at the Royal National Theatre in the 1960s. She still appears on stage after 60 years in the theatre industry.
