The pumpkin squash is a tropical variety that is also known as the Seminole pumpkin and botanically as Cucurbita moschata. This squash has a very similar form and color to the classic pumpkin, and is very heat tolerant. As the squash ages the outer skin turns from green to orange. The inner flesh has a large seed cavity, with a light orange inner flesh. Offering a squash-like flavor, the pumpkin squash presents mild sweet notes with light nutty.
