American Athletic Conference (AAC)

An American collegiate athletic conference established in 2013 following the collapse of the Big East Conference. The AAC will be one of two successors to the Big East. The conference will reatain the Big East's automatic berth to the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).

Current members of the conference include Rutgers University (to join the Big Ten Conference in 2014), Southern Methodist University, Temple University, University of Cincinnati, University of Connecticut, University of Houston, University of Louisville (to join the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014), University of Memphis, University of Central Florida, and University of South Florida. East Carolina University, Tulane University, and the University of Tulsa will join the conference in 2014, while the United States Military Academy (Navy) will join as an associate member for football in 2015.
