(1958- ) Madonna Louise Ciccone is an American singer, actress, entrepreneur, fashion designer, children's book author and film director and producer. She is the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century. Her debut album Madonna was launched in 1983, and after it there came plenty more: Like a Virgin (1984), True Blue (1986), Like a Prayer (1989), Erotica (1992), Bedtime Stories (1994), Ray of Light (1998), Music (2000), American Life (2003), Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005) and Hard Candy (2008). In 1979 she starred the film Evita.

She married the actor Sean Penn in 1985, but they got divorced in 1989. After several lovers, she had her first children Lourdes Maria in 1996 with Carlos Leon and her second one Rocco John in 2000 with Guy Ritchie, and in 2006 they adopted David Banda, a kid from Malawi. However, Richie and Madonna got divorced in 2008 and now she is dating the Brazilian model Jesús Luz. She also adopted a Malawi girl called Mercy James by herself.
